Meaning

If you speak your mind, you say what you really feel about something, or what you really think.

For example

  • Kerry decided it was time to speak her mind and tell Steve what she really thought about his decision.

  • Joel comes from New York, so he nearly always speaks his mind, but Sayoko comes from Tokyo, so she almost never speaks her mind. They come from very different cultures.
