If something whets your appetite, it makes you want something, or it stimulates your desire for something.
For example
- My wife has been listening to reggae music all day. She heard a song by Bob Marley on the radio this morning, and it really whetted her appetite for reggae.
- Those ads on TV really whet my appetite for pizza. I even ordered one once, just because of the ad. And I wasn't even hungry!
