If you fit in, you are accepted by a group of people and seen as "one of them".

For example

  • fit in When my daughter starts at a new school, she has no trouble fitting in.

  • fit in with sth/sb Barry started his new job in China and he tried to fit in with the local staff, but it was difficult because most of them didn't speak much English.
