Meaning

If you round a number or an amount up to a certain level such as a whole number or the nearest dollar, you bring it up to that level.

For example

  • round up sth If the amount is $39.95, round it up to $40.00

  • round sth up If it's over the 50-cent mark, you can round the amount up to the nearest dollar.
