Meaning

If you see somebody off, you go to the place from where they're beginning a journey, like an airport or a railway station, and wish them well as they leave.

For example

  • see sb off Ruth's family went to see her off at the airport.

  • see off sb The fans are going to the station to see off all the members of the basketball team.
