If you see through something or someone, you realize that you are being deceived or tricked, and you aren't fooled.

For example

  • see through sb/sth I got an email from someone claiming they had millions of dollars and needed my help to get it into the country. I saw through the scam and deleted it.

  • see through sb/sth My friends told me I'd won the lottery, but I saw through their little joke straight away and laughed.
