Money is a good servant, but a bad master
Possible interpretation: If you have money, it will serve you and work for you well. But if you owe money to other people, that money will control you in an unpleasant way.Note: servant (noun) = a person who performs duties for other people | master (noun) = a person who controls other people
If it's true that "money is a good servant, but a bad master", which of these would be preferable?
