to fall asleep unintentionally, due to extreme tiredness or drowsiness caused by drug-taking

For example

  • I'd been up since 5 in the morning, and I was very tired. I nodded off in front of the TV soon after having dinner.

  • Denny had taken a little more heroin than usual, and his head was slowly falling forward as he nodded off.
