XYZ
This page is about the slang term XYZ
Meaning
"code" said to alert someone that their zipper, or fly, is open
For example
- "Hey, Bob. XYZ, dude."
- I noticed that Tony had forgotten to do up his fly, so I said "XYZ, Tony" and winked as I looked down at his fly. Tony looked a bit confused, and then said he wasn't gay. Apparently he didn't know what "XYZ" means.
This is a type of "code word" used to avoid the socially awkward situation of having to tell someone directly that their zipper, or fly, is open.
Origin: derived from "(e)Xamine Your Zipper"
Variety
This is typically used in American English but may be used in other varieties of English too.
