Re: TEFL course and ESL Jobs

It's difficult to know which know which TEFL or TESOL course will be recognised by employers, as there are so many of them. A lot of employers will not accept online courses, and most certainly there must be a certain amount of hours of observed by an examiner in actually teaching within a classroom...

Re: Looking for some advice

If you are looking for online work, write out a profile of yourself, use a search engine using the words English online, select the best websites that will offer your services, and place your profile. If you are a qualified native English teacher, don't cheapen yourself with low prices, as many pros...

Re: can a malian teacher go to teach in UK

What is a Malian. If you have a BA degree from UK, or at the very least a degree from USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland and you also hold a PGCE, yes you can teach in the UK. As an EFL teacher being a you must have a degree plus a CELTA or Trinity. Chances even as a North American are low, as it is ea...

Re: ESL Teaching Online

I have been teaching esol privately full time in Russia for ten years, individually and in small groups. This is done face to face where I have rented a classroom in a commercial building with reception. I'm considering expanding online, but I'm not sure that skype online is profitable enough for so...

Re: LOOKING FOR A REPUTABLE TESOL/TEFL ONLINE SCHOOL

First of all look at the employment ads, and check what the employers are asking for. In many countries it is celta, or Trinity, online qualifications not accepted. If you find the CELTA inconvenient, and have some TESOL experience, try the Cambridge TKT test. It's a must that you have had a certain...

If you have a teachers' qualification such as a PGCE , I wouldn't bother with TESOL, and go for the international schools.

Re: I have been teaching literature

Your best bet would be the international schools as stated, and they have the best employment conditions in comparison to TESOL language centres. Have you had any experience in teaching beginners English as a foreign language? As this is a special skill, especially if you don't speak that child's fi...

Toflware. You might have already discovered what I'm about to say so late. So this is to help others. Language centres teach based on specific course books, and in your case it's TOEFL. So read some of these course of which your students will be using, and get the teachers' book also. Here's a link ...

Re: Advice required on TEFL certification for job in France

I assume you are an English native speaker, and an EU member? Your TEFL qualification will need to include a number of hours being observed teaching in practice. However, they prefer the Cambridge TESOL qualification, or Trinity in the EU. The French is not essential to teach English even at beginner...

I've been teaching English to Russians for ten years in the Moscow region, Rublevka. None of my Russian students have pronunciation problems. Of course grammar is not focused, and skills taught should be in speaking, reading, writing and listening. Many are of good British English accent.

Your age is not the major factor if you are adventurous enough. Do you you know how to teach English? There's more to it than meets the eye. Try going for a CELTA course. Travel to the country you want to, then advertise yourself independently. As an independent qualified native speaking teacher, yo...

Re: How i can get a teacher job?

In regards to Thailand, a Cambridge TESOL or Trinity with degree is a must. The advertising I've seen are looking for English native speakers. If you want to impress them with your English level, you would need a 9.

Re: How i can get a teacher job?

An IELTS is not a TESOL qualification. In fact it is a test for a non native speaker of English, of about Upper intermediate (B2) level. Try for the Cambridge CELTA or the TKT might be more convenient for you, as you simply take the teacher's test. You will probably these courses or TKT same place a...

Trusting Chinese? They are probably more honest than many other nationalities. But that doesn't matter, students should prepay courses in packages of 1, 5, 10, to 20 lessons. Price ratio being lowest for the most lessons being purchased. Do not offer free trial lesson, as you will be wasting a lot o...

Re: Looking for TOEIC students

The employers might not state this specifically, but all courses that language centres use are based on TOEFL or Cambridge exams such as KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, or IELTS. In fact I believe IELTS has overtaken TOEFL in international English qualifications. In Europe Cambridge is more popular and TOE...

Re: Looking for TOEIC students

I keep saying this. Search throughout the internet for employment TEFL,TESL, TESOL and read what the employers are asking for. With the majority it will be Cambridge CELTA, TKT, or Trinity. Some simply ask for a relevant degree. Problem is linguuist or TESOl degrees are quite rare with those seeking...

It is unlikely that any site will charge the teacher, as it is the teacher they need to teach the students. It is more likely they will charge the student, and then pay you, deducting a commission of say 10-20% commission. With some you set the price, and receive payment from the student using say p...

Samantha, $20 hour is a very reasonable price for a native speaker, and it would be an insult for a student to expect. And if you ever decide to get qualified with a Celta or TKT , you can charge $40 an hour or more. Give the internet a good search on online english, and you will see what I mean. Th...
