Just wondering, how do you pronounce the word 'carrefour'? (the international supermarket group) I understand that different people from different culture pronounce it differently. Problems with pronouns

Sentence: My mother went up and help the old lady with HER stuffs. Dear teachers. I am always having problem with pronouns. For example in the sentence above... who is HER refering to..the MOTHER or the OLD LADY? should be the OLD DAY but it seems funny.. is there any better way to write better? Tha...
