Phrasal Verb

Unread post by harvest »

Hello Everyone, Seems lately many members are too busy so there is no new post.
well, I have problem to explain about Phrasal Verb.

How to determine if A phrasal verb is separated or not

e.g
She picked me up at the airport last night.
is it the same meaning with :
She picked up me at the air port last night.

in the second sentence, object comes after up.

can anyone help?
thanks before

Well, for one thing, a phrasal verb is never separated when the pronoun is the subject (ie. he/she).

Your second sentence is incorrect English.

Warning - not all verbs followed by a preposition are phrasal verbs - picked up, is a verb + prepositional phrase, rather than a phrasal verb.
