Hi every body,

I am a teacher in a technical school and I shall teach my students some terms like:

tensile strength = strong in tension
compressive strength = strong in compression
ductile----ductility
fragile----fragility
durable----durability
combustible-----combustibility
impact resistance = resistant to impact
etc.

Please I want a clear explanation including meaning & right gramatical use because somewhile

Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day.

Hello, Hany!

Why don't you try looking those words up in excellent English-English dictionaries online?

All of them have everything you are asking for: definitions, examples, grammatical use.

Look at these examples:

http://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.c ... sh/tensile

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/diction ... e-strength
