Which is correct? He is bigger than I. or He is bigger than me.

Many people say that the correct form is "He is bigger than I" because it implies the verb "am" -"He is bigger than I (am)." Others say that "than" is a preposition, so it requires the pronoun "me". Yet, it is also a conjunction.
The solution to the question is:
Unless you say "He is bigger than I am" which is very formal, the colloquial "He is bigger than me" is perfectly acceptable.

Colloquial is fine but in a written exam (cloze) can one accept "He is bigger than me"?
