Hi,

I am new here. I have been a primary teacher for several years and I have recently moved to Brazil. I am setting up a small school to teach english. I have spent the last few months teaching myself the skills and subject matter needed to teach english and have few questions;

Are there any progression or planning sheets to work through for teaching English? I need this to help me assess where a student is and where they need to develop their English skills.

I plan to individualise courses and adjust to suit the needs of the learner, I am not using a coursebook but have one to refer to for my own needs. I am using material from the esl library and british council websites. Any further online resources that you could recommend?

Really excited about this new adventure so feel free to pass on any advice!

Hi!

Try googling the words "placement test efl" or "assessment test efl", you will get hundreds of sites with tests. You can choose the questions you want to build your test with. Don't forget to make it a graded one, that is, easier questions in the beginning and getting more difficult as it progresses. You will get an idea of the students different levels this way.

Good luck :)
