Questions Present Simple

Hi!

I'm a Teacher Trainee and I got as a task to teach 8-10 years old students the Present Simple Questions. This would be the first time they learn it. Supposedly, they already know the Present Simple Declararative Sentences.

My question would be:
Which verb would you chose to teach this topic?
I thought of the verb "have" together with clothes. E.g. they have pictures of dressed people, and they have to ask each other: Do you have cap? Yes, I have. Do you have shoes? No, I don't. etc.
(I wouldn't like to choose the verb "like", because we saw a video about it, and wouldn't like to repeat it.)

Do you think that it would work with the verb "have" and clothes? Or should I add the verb "wear"?

Thank you!

yes, this would work.

instead of using pictures of dressed people, use pictures of a hat, shoes, etc. That way, the questions the students ask really mean something.

In addition to Susan's reply, I would also suggest using another verb, for example play or eat, with the regular -s in the 3rd person singular. The verb "have" is kind of irregular and the kids would associate other verbs with it... IMHO
