Language Labs

Unread post by ondrejbradac »

Dear colleagues,

I would like to ask you a question specifically about the language labs. Is there anyone who has some experience with one of the following solutions? Ideally more of them, so you can compare? :)

- SANAKO
- ROYCAN
- ROBOTEL?

We are thinking about providing solution from one of the above mentioned companies, but it´s very difficult for us to orientate in the marketing materials. If anyone had any experience to share, I am sure it would be most helpful to me.

Best regards,

Hi,

What are you thinking of doing with your language lab? They are a massive outlay of money and I'm not sure students benefit so much from their use. There are other ways of doing work with today's technology.

Best,

Hello Susan,
thanks a lot. I mean most likely listening comprehension, pair work, debates - pretty much everything that includes works with listening and speaking in real time, and at the same time enable the check-up by the teacher and the ability to help the student via pc control, etc. But the audio communication is very crucial. We also need to have some good side-by evaluation tool, which would enable us to send the students taks, assessments and other assignments at side of the audio file that they will be listening to...

Well, the question whether to buy a language lab or not, we already solved - and the answer is YES :) But there´s rather the question which one of the aforementioned could satisfy our needs better.

Best regards,
Ondrej
