You can make the students fluent-------- speedy game

Unread post by shizee_123 »

hi teachers,
I am sharing with you my technique to inhance the fluency of the students. This is game named SPEEDY GAME.Just ask the students to speak what so ever comes to their mind, without bothering about the sequence of thought. You need a stop watch to check the time. The student who speaks most of the time without stopping, would be the winner.

Use this and send me your responce.

This is a good activity, and I've used it many times, too. I would add that questions on a topic often help students begin the conversation. With lower-ability students, a few minutes of prep time also goes a long way in increasing speaking time.

I've discussed this same activity (more or less) at ESL Teacher Talk's August 16th podcast, as well as on my website at http://www.headsupenglish.com .
