Dear Kristi

I am also interested in finding penpals from America for my German students. My students are 11-15 years old.
My younger students are not so good at writing English. However if students 8-10 years old would like to have penpals I'll help my students with the letters.

If your students are interested, please send me a mail:
www.gudrun.korn@english-corner.de

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi! I teach geography at a public school in the United States. I would like to find international pen pals for my 6th grade students to write to and communicate with. We learn about political geography, physical geography and culture in all seven continents during the year. I am excited to see if we can communicate with people from other countries/continents because I think it would enhance my students' learning so much!

I look forward to hearing from anyone who teaches in another country as to whether or not this might be able to happen.

Thank you!

How do you do! My name is Elena. I am a teacher of English in a Secondary school in Russia. I think it is a great project because it gives students opportunity to communicate, find penfriends and the most important thing is a chance to improve their English. My students' age is 12-17. I'll be glad to have any further information about this collaborative project. It would be nice to have penpals from the USA and other English speaking countries. Everybody who is interested in communication please write to me:

I'm a teacher of English at middle schools in Algeria, and I found the idea of getting penpals from all over the world for both teachers and learner very interesting.
i'll discuss the idea with taecher of my county here in algeria and I'm sure that we would be very happy to get in touch with different experiences to share many points of view and perform our EFL teaching

Sincerely Yours

To Whom It May Concern:

I am a 10th Grade English Teacher at Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ. I am looking to get a pen pal program started for some of my classes. My students are approximately 15-16 years old. They are primarily Hispanic and African-American students living in an urban area. Many of my Hispanic students have moved here from other countries. All of my students speak English and my Hispanic students all speak Spanish as well. My students face many challenges living in this area. The school, community, parents, and students are all struggling and have little resources compared to many suburban areas around them. However, the students really need a more international perspective on the lives of students their age around the world. More than 80 percent of my students entered 9th grade reading below their grade level so they could really use a fun project like this that they can connect to that will also help them practice writing at the same time. My students have little opportunity to travel outside of the streets of Paterson and this is a great opportunity for them to be exposed to more of the world and expand their horizons. They are a vibrant, outgoing, and caring group of students who would be extremely excited to make connections beyond their borders and learn more about the world around them. I would be thrilled to connect my students will a class outside of the United States but even just outside of Paterson, NJ would be a step in the right direction!

My email address is jlynnwall @ gmail.com so please feel free to contact me at anytime to discuss this further. Thank you!

Sincerely,
J. Wall

Unread postby teachforhope » Mon Sep 07, 2009 12:07 am

Hello!

I am currently teaching at a Native American reservation in South Dakota and would love to have some pen pals for my students! I teach writing, grades 6-8, and have about 80 students. Please let me know if you would be interested in setting up a pen-pal exchange between our students through snail mail/regular post. I am sure my students could learn quite a bit from yours, and the different cultures could be very enriching for our students! Please email me at mysticwolf003@yahoo.com if you are interested!
Thank you for your time,

Hi Kristie,
My name is Merche. I am a Primary School teacher teaching English as a foreign language to children aged 8 to 12 and I would really love to take part in a pen pal project.I have commented this idea to my pupils and they love it and they're very keen in starting this project. I think it's a good way to motivate and improve their language skills.

By the way I am from Spain. ( Caceres ) near Madrid. So the cultural exhange would be great even though my pupils are younger, it would be a great experience for them.

I would really like to hear from you soon.
