Could someone please explain the meaning of speaking strategies?
I thought that speech elements such as word stress, sentence stress,
intonation, vowels and consonants were all strategies that we taught students to
help them improve their oral skills. Recently, I looked up speaking strategies and read
that "conversational skills" such as asking for information, or learning how to interrupt
politely were considered speaking strategies.
I appreciate all responses,
For general discussion between ESL teachers.
