New adult class with no English level

Unread postby tngreen » Fri Oct 13, 2006 8:45 am

Hello Everyone,
I am teaching in China and will have my second class with a new adult class. There are over 20 students and none of them can speak English. I have no idea where to begin. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I am not entitled to advise you as I am also just beginning to teach. Even though I do not intend to teach groups of 20 or more students, I would also appreciate suggestions. For some of the solutions may well be applicable to small groups or single students too.

teaching adults in China...

Dear Tngreen,

I just finished teaching for over five years in China. Depending on the context and situation you find yourself in right now is going to change how I could advise you. Please feel free to e-mail me or drop by my on-line school and talk to me directly. Since you are in China, you will need to use a proxy server outside of mainland China to view my web site.

Don't worry too much. My first class there was with over forty students.
