how to answer negative command

Unread postby nhanhong » Mon Nov 16, 2009 9:04 am

Please whoever is sure about which to repond to the imperative:
- Don't come here late tomorrow!
a- No, I won't.
b- No, I will come early.
I myself feel a- is the accurate response. However, another person just contends that b- is the right one.

In real life either would be fine.

However I suspect this is a question from an exercise, as a more natural thing to say would be 'Don't be late tomorrow!' not 'Don't come here late tomorrow!'

If it's an exercise, a) is probably the expected answer.
