I enjoy being praised. Is the verb form in italics passive gerund or passive participle?
My non-native English teacher told me that the passive sentence 'I enjoy being praised (by others)' comes from the active sentence 'I enjoy others praising me' in which 'praising' is a participle, and not a gerund.
Is he right about it?
