Oh poor Sindy. You know I’m a timid girl as well. There’s nothing wrong with that. But if you really want to improve your English speaking skills, you have to be brave. Just speak up.
I mean, as learners it’s naturally to make mistakes. The good thing is that while you’re taking to others, you can realize what your weaknesses are related to the language, and also the person you’re having a conversation with can help you by correcting you.
You’ll see that while coming to EC, you will be able to enhance your writing skills and enrich your vocabulary. As you know, the more you practice, the better you get. Don’t expect to master the language at once. It’s not something that happens overnight, you know.
If you don’t know someone to talk to in English. Well, maybe you can find tourists walking around. Just tell them you are a student who would like to practice. I’m sure they'll understand.

Are you shy only for english ? (I don't think so.)
Do the first step if you want to walk.
Performance must never be the criterium. We all tolerate the errors. Errare humanum est.
Think about one thing : I like or I dislike ? I do and I live.

It's true, you have to speak up and speak out. To tell you the truth, I have trouble speaking as well. When I converse with people who has a better speaking ability than me, I tend to stammer and not make sense.
You cannot stick to your books. A written comprehension is important, but just as important as your ability to express yourself verbally.

Hi Takeshi, thank you for your contribution to this topic. With reference to your opinion above, it is simple that the more you listen, the more solutions you may have obtained, even though, some of these opinions or advices are not applicable to your case. Beside, giving advices do not have to be face to face, it can be given by way of written form, i.e. letter, email, posting up in EC and things like this.takeshi wrote:i found that coming to ec and posting opinions could enhance one's vocabulary and verbal skill, but not speaking skills and listening skills.how to solve this problem while we meet on ec net?puzzled!!

it is normal to be shy as human but in case of learning we should deal with the situation as possible as we can .. be brave and good luck ..
