I agree. Reading helps A LOT.

Another thing that helped me is keeping a journal in English. I wrote in it about college, work, people I met, etc. At first, it was very difficult to express all my thoughts in English (sometimes I have trouble expressing them even in my native language

), but gradually it became easier. What I liked the best about my journal is the idea that nobody will read it and judge it. Of course, it’s good if someone who knows English well can correct your writing and explain the mistakes, but I was too shy and too embarrassed of my mistakes to show my writing to anyone.

The point is: keep yourself writing in English constantly. It could be participating in a forum, exchanging letters with pen pals, keeping a journal, etc.
