hi
when I say:
I must drive my car carefully- I mean right now
How I can talk about past by using must?
like this:
I must have driven my car carefully
or
I should have driven my car carfully.
:D

Re: Must
Essentially you cannot use the word 'must' in this instance in the past tense unless you qualify the statement with more information for the listener.FFFF wrote:hi

example 1: I must have driven my car carefully because it is in excellent condition considering its age.
example 2: I should have driven my car carefully because it now has too many things wrong with it
I hope this helps.
