Ask for helping

Post by harvester »

Could you help me find the system of symbols used in take-note English. I mean the popular symbols in International English such as co. = country, sts. = students, no = number, etc. = and so on,... That is used for abreviation. If you have some popular symbols, please share with me, thanks a lot! :)

These are some pages that have examples.
Mostly, I ask my students to develop their own. It's a very personal thing. Usually, we are the people who read our own notes. It's very rare another person would read them.

What's the difference between "older brother" and "elder brother"?

No difference, though 'older' is more commonly used.
