Sir,

I met him six months ago.

1.Here "ago" is adverb but it follows noun in this sentence,Why so?

2. "six months ago" is a adverb phrase?

3.If I have to underline the adverb in the above sentence, then should I under line only "ago" or "six months ago".

Thanks.

1. It's actually quite normal for time adverbs to follow their adjuncts. Cf. 'three years later; two days before' etc.

2. Yes, it is an adverb phrase.

3. 'Ago', as phrase head, is the adverb.
