What's funny in that?!

Hi all,
It really drives me crazy.
I message to an English speaker the following question (he responded it's funny/cute...kind of laughing at me):

"How did you celebrate Black Friday Festival?"

Maybe because I forgot to add "S" (Black Friday's Festival) or sounded awkward somehow?

1) What's the correct question to ask?
2) Is there any implicit meaning for what I ask?

Grammatically, it should be 'the Black Friday Festival', but beyond that...
