I've never been to ...

Post by aymericbjx »

I'm just wondering if it's ever possible to omit prepositions before names of cities/countries in sentences like
"I've never been _ Paris", "I live _ Paris", "I'm going _ Paris"
or is it only correct to say
"I've never been to Paris", "I live in Paris", "I'm going to Paris".

Thank you very much in advance. I will appreciate your help.

No, it is not possible to omit the prepositions in these expressions.
