a. I am talking about the city of Jackson.
b. I am talking about the city Jackson.
The idea is:
I am talking about the city that is Jackson. I am talking about Jackson (the city).
I am sure that (a) is correct, but I have doubts about (b). Is it correct?
We do say 'the city of London' but can we say 'the city London'?
Many thanks
the city of London

Re: the city of London
Only the first is correctly structured.
