Goodday, fellow English learners and teachers.
There is a sentence that has been bugging me for a while now. Everyone i ask doesn't see the problem, but i can't seem to let it go.
"Nobody else is stronger than i am".
To my mind, this would mean that there is at least ONE person stronger than me, but nobody else is stronger. Of course, it's meant to imply that i am the strongest.
Shouldn't "Nobody is stronger than i am" be the only correct sentence?
I await your judgement and would love a link to an article that explains why "nobody else" would be wrong.

Yes, 'else' here is quite redundant unless, as you say, there is at least one other contender.
