Hello, everybody!
I learn the English language, and I met following question in my book: "Was Emma worried". I decided, what this PAST continuous tense, because I see the verb "WAS". But Why do verb of this sentence have ending ING? I think, what Past continuous make like WAS+ Ex.Emma+ ending ING. Then why "worried", if "worrying"
Help me please.
Thank you)
Question about tense.

Re: Question about tense.
Yes, it is a simple past tense (was) followed by an adjective (worried).
This is different grammatically from the past progressive "She was worrying", although essentially identical in meaning.
