to stand by

Post by PinkLady »

Does this sentence make sense?

"The judge wiill only stand by you if he thanks you're right.""

2. In case the verbs 'to stand by' is not suitable in this context or is not the most appropriate, what verbs would you use?

Possible, but 'support' would be a more appropriate choice of word in this context.
