Which should I use - "burgle"

Today while i was studying english i saw a rule that tells me that I can not use the "burgle" verb with cars or banks but with houses ,flats or buildings.

I checked this on the internet and saw burgle was used with cars too . Just not with banks . Can you help me ?

I asked this to our american native english speaker and he told me that it is used in daily converstions but it is not really gramatically correct.

burgle is the verb and burglary the noun

Dictionary definition of burglary is: the act of breaking into a house or other building to steal

You can find any language you like if you try hard enough on the Internet but that doesn't change the dictionary definition.
