Adventures of Mazarin Store

Post by majid »

Dear all, in this famous story, there's a line :

"I rather want to see my shark without his seeing me. "

Can I replace his with him ? Thanks !

Yes, you can. Using his is technically correct grammar but using him is normal usage for native speakers.

So are these two sentences correct:

I rather want to see my shark without being seen by him.

I rather want to see my husband without being seen by his mother.

Thanks !
