"Calculated"

Post by jsofsweden »

Hi!
I need help..
Is the following correct, can one say:
- That something new "wasn't calculated for"? -

Trying to say that something happened that we didn't anticipate.. "Something happened that wasn't calculated for."
(Note, it's important that the word "calculated" is being used, if it even is okay to use the word calculate as a synonym to anticipate?)
Maybe this is Swenglish? haha

I think the expression you want is "calculate ON".

My Apple Dictionary gives the following example:

We had calculated on a quiet Sunday.
expect, count on, anticipate, reckon on, bargain on, figure on

Aah of course!
So like, do you think it would be accurate to say something like "This beautiful day wasn't calculated on"?
